Hello! I'm Nadia Bauman, a digital illustrator with a passion for all things eerie and mysterious. My focus lies in creating captivating visuals for middle-grade chapter books, aiming to engage readers between eight and twelve years old. What sets my art apart is the textured, dynamic line work and vibrant compositions that breathe life into the pages. From a young age, horror has been my preferred genre to illustrate, allowing me to delve into the depths of imagination, tackle challenging themes, and spark curiosity about the unknown. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, my upbringing in the midwest has uniquely influenced my exploration of horror and themes of otherness.

Having graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Art with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in 2024, where I specialized in illustration and minored in creative writing, I have honed my skills in the realm of digital illustration. A notable accolade includes winning 1st Place Digital Print at the Unveiled 2023 Art Exhibition. One of my standout pieces, 'Visitor,' from the project 'Scaredy-Cat Tales: Volume 1,' was featured in the Society of Illustrators' gallery both in New York and their online platform in 2024. Additionally, being an alum of the ItsMe 2026 spring mentorship program has further enriched my artistic journey.

Currently based in Charlotte, North Carolina, with my partner and adored feline companions, my roots trace back to Mentor, Ohio. When I'm not immersed in illustrating, you can find me nurturing my houseplants, enjoying cozy video games with friends, or unwinding with a cup of tea while engrossed in a Stephen King or Goosebumps novel. Nature, music, and my midwest upbringing continue to fuel my creativity, infusing my work with a sense of wonder and nostalgia. Through my art, I aspire to ignite the imagination of viewers, leading them on a journey where goosebumps raise, courage is tested, and the lure of the next page beckons them into a realm of enchanting darkness.
