about the ARTIST

Hi! I am Nadia Bauman, otherwise known as Catsnore, and I am an illustrator, designer, and writer. Currently, I am based in North Carolina, but I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. Children’s picture books, toy design, and merchandising are my favorite forms of illustration. Having graduated with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 2024, I majored in Illustration and minored in Creative Writing.

Inspired by scary campfire stories from all around the world, food that’s so delicious you go for seconds, the beauty of nature and all its inhabitants, and the wonders of the imagination, I have an interest in both the spooky and the cutesy, and often combine these two aesthetics to form captivating, unique, and whimsical narratives for everyone to enjoy. Working primarily in digital media, my fantastical work focuses heavily on textured line art, lively compositions, vibrant color palettes, and a plethora of loveable - and sometimes monstrous - characters. Busy creating from my home studio, I am focusing on my personal shop, commissions, exploration of bridging the sweet and the scary together, and reading all of my stories to my pet cat, Nemo, who’d rather be sleeping.

Aside from art, I am a big fan of The Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing, metal and goth music, horror movies, and houseplants!
